What better way to learn economics than seeing people our own age doing it! This is a great episode of Shark Tank (one of Mrs. Everitt's favorite shows). Which business do you think is the most successful? Over the next three weeks, we will begin our journey into Economics. This unit allows us to learn a lot about the way our world works and how we, as consumers and producers, effect economics. Below are the videos that we'll share over the course of the three weeks. The Hudsucker Proxy shows us an excellent example of Supply and Demand. The salesman is not able to sell hula hoops until the kids see the young boy hula-hooping. Can you explain this example of supply and demand? This Needs vs. Wants video is about Jimmy and Alex who want to purchase bikes next year. Explain to me what each boy does to meet their goal of purchasing a new bike. How can you relate to this? In the video, Field Trip to the Money Factory, we learn about designing the money we use on a daily basis. After you watch the video, check out these websites to learn more about money! Learn more about the newly redesigned $100 bill here. Learn more about the money factory by visiting the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing by click here. Please watch this interesting video on The Lost Colony. When you are done, please post a comment about which of the three theories you believe.

Also make sure to use capitalization, proper punctuation and appropriate grammar! ** (If you need an email address, you can use my school email: [email protected]) On Friday, March 7, Mrs. Everitt's Social Studies classes worked together to complete an interactive map of the explorer's expeditions for the Northwest Passage (NWP). This makes an excellent study guide! Way to go students, it looks great!
